Men snart!

I'm slowly, slowly waking up after two cold and dark winter months. No knitting, just a lot of sleep and rest. But I've picked up my needles again, and should have something to report soon!
I've done some reading, though. Tried to read "Snabba cash" in Swedish by Jens Lapidus, but gave up - not a book for me.
I did finish Captain Wentworth's Persuasion by Regina Jeffers, though. That is, Jane Austen's novel Persuasion written from Captain Wentworth's perspective. I mostly bought it since I liked to see something based on Persuasion for a change - there's probably a million different titles based on Pride and Prejudice out there...
This was quite ok, actually. I can't say I liked everything, of course - I, as all other readers, have my own personal opinion about what happens in the book and between the lines, and no author can have the same opinion as I do, apparently, but for most of the book, Regina Jeffers comes pretty close. The language is ok, and as long as this book keeps parallell to the original, events are mostly correct.
Towards the end, though, when she starts telling us what happened after Persuasion ended, well... I'll just say that I do not agree with her there. Too many titles, riches, and to me Anne falls out of her character.
Also, I do not understand why all authors nowadays have to add sex in their books. Especially Jane Austen's books and characters are much better without anything of that kind mentioned! Don't be alarmed, though - there really is no sex in this book, not in the 21st century way anyway, but there are far too many kisses - and even before they were married! I'm shocked and disturbed.
But all together, this is a decent read - there's much worse out there. But maybe I'd rather re-read Jane Austen's original instead.
